Both are nice and just 10 kms apart. McLoedganj has a lot of character and is the place to spend a lot of time. You can visit beautiful places like Bhagsunath, Naddi, Dal Lake, Dharamkot and many more.

Best time to visit Mcleodganj/ Dharamshala is from September to December and Mid March to Mid July.
What should I wear in Dharamshala?
Carry warm clothes no matter what time of year you are traveling. Also, dress in layers so that you can put on or take off a layer when the temperature changes suddenly. In winter especially, thermal wear and heavy jackets are a must.
